20 easy and enjoyable lessons will enable you to be a proficient touch typist!

How does the Touch Typing Technology program work?

The program consists of 20 structured lessons that are based on a combination of Sight, Sound and Rhythm.

The keyboard is graphically displayed on the computer screen, with the different letters shown in various colors. The narrator starts with a demonstration of how the system operates and explains how to position your hands and fingers on the keyboard before starting the first lesson.

In the first lesson, the narrator calls out a letter to be typed. This letter is then highlighted on the colored on-screen keyboard, and the narrator instructs you to press the key on the keyboard. You first see the letter, hear it being called out, and then respond.

Example

The natural combination of Sight, Sound and Rhythm makes the learning process effortless and enjoyable. After the first 4 lessons you will already be able to touch type all the letters of the alphabet.

The next 6 lessons are devoted to increasing your speed and accuracy by utilizing different exercises that reinforce your newly acquired skill. During these 6 lessons, special exercises are used that are designed to wean you off being dependent on the colored keyboard.

Therefore, after only 10 lessons you will be able to touch type at a basic speed using the correct fingers, without the help of the on-screen colored keyboard. The following 10 lessons concentrate on increasing your touch typing speed, with special emphasis on improving accuracy.

In these 10 lessons the narrator calls out sentences and groups of letters - which also appear on the screen - at gradually increasing speeds, thus constantly motivating you to increase your speed and keep up with the rhythm of the narrator.

If certain mistakes are repeated, you will be given specially tailored exercises to correct these errors before moving on to the next lesson. In the event of you making too many mistakes, or if you find the target speed difficult, you will be asked to repeat the lesson.

You will be instructed to proceed to the next lesson if the results of your lesson are satisfactory. After completing the 20 lessons you will be a proficient touch typist, with all the benefits entailed in skillfully and efficiently operating of the computer.
